My name is Wendy van Rijn and I am an artist and designer.

Using virtual reality, I explore ways to transform the subconscious into a tangible space. Virtual reality allows me to reconnect with my emotional absence from our surroundings and experience a deeper, personal connection to the seclusion of my living environment. 

I explore how my thoughts and emotions respond to a space by drawing these emotions on paper. The drawings serve as a visual representation of my inner world and form the basis for the virtual world. In the virtual world, my feelings come to life in a virtual world.

I was born in Ermelo (1996). In 2020 I completed my study as a Graphic Designer at Landstede Harderwijk. Currently I am studying Art & Research at Sint Joost, ‘s- Hertogenbosch. 

As an artist and researcher in contemporary society, I see it as my role to build bridges between the inner experience of individuals and the shared reality of our environment. My work invites people to look at themselves and others in a deeper, more empathetic way.
